RATP and Alstom have commissioned the T8 tramway in the Ile-de-France region.

The 8.45-kilometre line connects Saint-Denis – Porte de Paris station to Villetaneuse-University and Epinay-sur-Seine station via two branch lines.

Twenty trams an hour will operate through the core and 10 trams an hour on the branch lines at peaks times.

Jean-Paul Huchon, president of STIF and of the Ile-de-France region, Pierre Mongin, chief executive of RATP, and Ana Giros, managing director of Alstom Transport France, attended an opening event on December 16.

Financed by STIF, line’s new 20 Citadis trams were procured as an option on an order for 19 trams placed by RATP for line T7 in 2010.
