Pesa has released images of its new DART electric multiple unit (EMU) during testing between Bydgoszcz and Warlubie.

The manufacturer is in the process of completing a 1.3 billion zł (€313 million) order for 20 of the intercity EMUs for PKP Intercity.

Pesa has said that the test train has been tested at its maximum operating speed of 160 km/h.

All 20 units are expected to be delivered by October 2015.

The new trains, which are being partly financed by the EU, will operate on three routes: Jelenia Gora-Wroclaw-Lodz-Warsaw-Bialystok, Lublin-Bialystok and Lublin-Warsaw-Koluszki-Czestochowa-Katowice-Bielsko Biala.
