Medellín has submitted an order with CAF for 20 three-car metros for the Colombian city’s mass transit network.
The new units, which can operate as single units or coupled, have been procured to meet growing demand across the 35.5-kilometre metro network.
Medellín is the second-largest city in Colombia, sitting in the Aburrá Valley in the Andes.
Medellín Metro, which was inaugurated in year 1995, ordered an initial set of 13 trains in 2009. This was extended by another three trains in January 2014.
