PKP Intercity has received certification for the first three of its new FLIRT 3 intercity EMUs.

The first three of 20 trains being built by Stadler and Newag have been approved and are now undergoing further tests at the test centre in Żmigród.

Three more trains are on the test track and are undergoing the homologation process.

Eleven FLIRT 3 vehicles have already been completed. The nine remaining trains are at an “advanced stage of production” in Siedlce, said PKP Intercity.

The new trains will operate from December this year on the Warsaw – Bydgoszcz, Olsztyn – Krakow, Gdynia – Katowice and Krakow – Szczecin lines.
