OEVRZ has won a tender to supply 20 eight-car metro trains for St Petersburg.
The new trains, which will be delivered between 2016 and 2020, will be fitted with asynchronous traction motors.
The contract has been valued at RUBÂ 10.5 billion.
In March, OOO Vagonmaš, a subsidiary of Škoda Transportation, was named as the winner of a contract to supply eight new six-car metro trains for the city.
The new trains, which will be built in St Petersburg, will serve line 3 of the city’s metro network.
