The Løren Line, a new underground link between he Ring and Grorud metro lines in Oslo, has opened.
Construction of the 1.6-kilometre link has included building a new station and will allow passengers to continue west on the Grorud line to Sinsen, Storo and Nydalen.
An opening ceremony was held at Løren station, the 101st station to be built on the T-banen network and the first to be built in 10 years, on April 3.
The Løren Line will free up space through the Common Tunnel, which is shared by all six Oslo metro lines, allowing the frequency of services on Line 3 to be doubled.
Chief executive of Sporveien Cato Hellesjø said: “Løren path withLøren station is the largest and most important public transport project in Oslo for 10 years.
“The work has been challenging, but we have kept both progress and costs in line with budget and on schedule.”
