Lyon’s public transport body, SYTRAL, has voted unanimously in favour of renewing its contract with Keolis to operate the city’s TCL rail network.

The TCL includes four metro lines, five tram lines and two funicular railways and records around 1.7 millions journeys every day.

Following months of negotiations, SYTRAL confirmed on October 7 that it would be renewing its contract with Keolis for six more years, starting from 1 January 2017.

The new contract, which will be signed in the next few weeks, is expected to generate revenues of €2.2 billion.
