Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HTT), one of the companies developing a Hyperloop evacuated-tube transit system, has announced an exploratory agreement with the city of Brno in the Czech Republic.

HTT will look at the feasibility of linking the city with Bratislava, Slovakia, which already has an existing agreement with the company. The Hyperloop system would subsequently look to connect to the Czech capital, Prague.

HTT says it is the first time two cities have looked at the possibility of creating a cross-border Hyperloop.

In a post on its Facebook page, HTT said: “In the past year HTT has made historic deals directly with the regulators and government officials of Slovakia and Abu Dhabi and expects a multitude of similar government agreements this year continuing to create the necessary regulatory framework for the Hyperloopâ„¢ system worldwide.”

A number of companies have put forward their own Hyperloop systems based on the concept presented by Tesla’s Elon Musk in 2013. As well as HTT, Hyperloop One and TransPod are both developing similar solutions.

Fundamentally they all involve transporting pods at extremely high speeds through reduced-pressure tubes using maglev technology.
