Bernese Oberland railway inaugurates first train of new fleet

Berner Oberland-Bahn AG (BOB) has welcomed the first of six new EMUs built by Stadler.

BOB has invested around CHF 112 million in the new train sets and a renovation of its Zweilütschinen depot.

BOB has ordered six three-car ABDeh 8/8 321 trains from Stadler. Deliveries will continue until the autumn.

Having received approval from the Swiss Federal Office of Transport, BOB launched the new fleet on February 10.

The launch event was attended by the chairman of the board of directors of BOB, David-André Beeler; chief executive of the Jungfraubahnen, Urs Kessler; the head of BOB, Stefan Würgler; and Bernese councillor Barbara Egger-Jenzer.
