Bentheimer Eisenbahn AG has ordered five new Coradia Lint diesel multiple units (DMUs) from Alstom in an order worth €20 million.

The two-car units will be built at Alstom’s Salzgitter factory – the site that produced the first hydrogen fuel cell Coradia Lint train last year.

Bentheimer Eisenbahn will operate the new units between Bad Bentheim, Nordhorn and Neuenhaus in Lower Saxony. It will be the first passenger rail service on the line for 44 years.

The 42-metre trains can be operated as double units and have capacity for 118 seated passengers and 136 standing.
