Train operating company RegioJet has announced plans to launch a new Prague to Vienna connection.

The firm, which is headquartered in the Czech Republic, said the inter-city service will be operational from December 2017 and will link the two capital cities, via Břeclav and Brno, four times a day in each direction.

Austria’s Graz-Köflach Railway (GKB), which operates passenger and freight trains, will partner RegioJet on the new venture.

The all-inclusive on-board service will provide customers with free of charge hot beverages, internet connection, press and magazines.

Austria will become the third country, after the Czech Republic and Slovakia, that RegioJet operates services in.

RegioJet, which has approximately eight million passengers on its services each year, has also said it is planning to further push into the Austrian transportation market in the future.
