Thales and Latour Capital have ended talks over a possible sale of Thales’ ticketing and revenue collection business.

The two organisations entered into exclusive talks in November last year. On May 9, Thales and Latour Capital announced that they had reached a mutual agreement to end the negotiations.

Latour Capital said it had decided that the business was “not aligned closely enough with its investment priorities”.

Thales’ ticketing business supplies gate line technology, ticket vending machines and point-of-sales terminals to rail operators around the world. It currently employs around 850 people and reported sales of €190 million last year – a 20 per cent increase on 2015.

Thales has said it will continue examining options to develop the business.
