The HzL Hohenzollerische Landesbahn has made an order for 10 Alstom Coradia Lint regional trains.

The $50 million contract will see the DMUs built at Alstom’s Salzgitter plant and delivered by May 2019 to run on routes from Ulm to Aalen, Langnau and Munderkingen.

It marks the first time Alstom’s Coradia Lint’s will serve the Baden-Württemberg region.

The Coradia Lint is a low-consumption DMU that can reach speeds of up to 140km/h.

The two-car trains ordered by HzL have an access height of 628 mm and a total seat capacity of 150 passengers.

HZL chief technology officer Tobias Harms said: “The Lint from Alstom is an absolutely new feature in our train fleet. We are very excited about the new trains and are happy to be able to offer our future passengers a high comfort.”
