A video has been released which gives an insight into the workings of the huge new site that will manufacture the 70,000 tonne segments for the Fehmarnbelt tunnel.

The site at Rødbyhavn, Denmark, which will be equivalent to the size of 200 football pitches, will produce the 89 concrete segments that will connect together to create the world’s longest immersed road/rail tunnel.

Each of the tunnel sections will be 217 metres long and around 40 metres wide. Once built, the segments will be submerged and connected together to construct the 18km tunnel between Rødbyhavn and Puttgarden in Germany.
