Stadler delivers St Petersburg’s first Metelitsa trams

Swiss rolling stock manufacturer Stadler has rolled out the first batch of trams for the LCC Transport Concession Company (TCC), St Petersburg, Russia.

Six of Metelitsa trams were delivered from the company’s assembly plant in Minsk, Belarus, on August 1, with the remaining 17 trams to be delivered by 2018.

The order was placed in August 2016 for the rolling stock, which will run on the Krasnogvardeysky district’s new tram network.

The bi-directional 856 model of tram is a three-section 34m-long vehicle with a capacity for 370 passengers. They have a maximum speed of 75km/h.

TCC is responsible for developing and constructing the tram network in the Krasnogvardeysky district.
