China’s standardised EMU is to go into 350 km/h passenger service between Beijing and Shanghai next month.
China Railway has announced that a new timetable will come into effect on September 21, which will include a high-speed service between Beijing and Shanghai using the Fuxing Hao trains.
Trial runs were carried out in July and the train has now passed feasibility and safety checks, according to China Railway.
From September 21, seven trains will operate every day in both directions between the two cities, with an estimated journey time of four and a half hours.
