An expression of interest (EOI) has been launched by Nigerian Railway Corporation as it looks to find a new ticketing provider.

Initiating the procurement process, the operator wants suitable service providers, consultants and suppliers to design, develop, deploy and manage a ticketing system for the country’s railways.

The EOI covers both e-ticketing – passengers can currently buy tickets through Nigerian Railways’ website – and physical tickets.

Security, maintenance and training for the ticketing infrastructure is also mentioned in the EOI.

Interested parties should make their applications by October 3.

The Nigerian Railway Corporation is a state-owned organisation which operates around 3,505km of single track in Nigeria. It was formerly known as the Government Department of Railways but was renamed in 1955.
