Maintenance renewal deal for Strukton Rail in Sweden

Strukton Rail has had its maintenance contract for the Svealandsbanan (Svealand Railway) between Södertälje and Valskog renewed by Trafikverket, the Swedish Transport Administration.

Strukton’s contract covers the maintenance of rails, electrical installations and signals.

During the winter, Strukton clears snow and ice from rails, switches and train stations, and grits platforms on behalf of passenger safety

The new deal is worth €74 million and will begin on October 1 , 2018, and run until September 20, 2023, from which point it may be extended by another two years.

Strukton Rail contract manager Joakim Ahlström said: “We are pleased to be continuing our work. This new assignment is proof that the Trafikverket is satisfied with our efforts, and we would like to continue this good cooperation.”
