The supervisory board of Stuttgarter Straßenbahnen (SSB) has approved a plan to order 20 new Tango light rail vehicles.
The cost of the order has been estimated at around €80 million – €4 million per unit.
It will be the third call off of an existing order with manufacturer Stadler Pankow.
In July, Stuttgart’s city council approved several funding packages for the city’s rail network, including €7.5 million for three new trains for the Stuttgart Rail Railway, €40 million for the light rail vehicles and €25 million to build a fourth depot.
