SNC-Lavalin to complete Atkins integration in 2018

Listen to this article

SNC-Lavalin has announced a new global structure following its Atkins integration plan.

The Canadian engineering giant said it had become a “true global player” when it confirmed the $3.6 billion acquisition of UK rival Atkins in July, 2017.

Effective as of January 1, 2018, a number of cost synergies, business development and revenue synergy opportunities have now been identified and will be completed in 2018.

Atkins’ UK and Europe CEO Nick Roberts is to lead all engineering, design and project management activities around the world, except for Canada, which will remain fully integrated with SNC-Lavalin’s Infrastructure division.

Atkins will continue to be reported as a single sector until 2018.

SNC-Lavalin’s CEO Neil Bruce said: “We have made tremendous progress over the last few years to improve the ways in which we support clients in critical business projects.

“This strategic realignment of our global organisational structure demonstrates the depth of talent in our integrated company and our confidence in the company’s longer-term growth opportunities across a range of key areas.

“These important changes, effective January 1, 2018, are an important step forward and build on our recent momentum as we head into the new year.”
