Denver International Airport awards people mover operations contract

Bombardier Transportation has signed a new operations and maintenance contract with the city and county of Denver, Colorado, for the Denver International Airport automated people mover.

The $150 million deal (∼€128 million) will see Bombardier continue the service it began with the airport in 1994.

The new contract will take effect on January 1, 2018, and last for seven years.

Bombardier Transportation’s Americas president Benoit Brossoit said: “We are pleased to continue our long-term partnership with Denver International Airport, the 18th busiest airport in the world and the sixth busiest airport in the United States.

“As its passenger volume continues to grow and the airport faces renovation and expansion projects, we are more committed than ever to delivering safe, reliable and comfortable service that meets the mobility needs of the airport and its passengers.”
