Maryland Transit Administration renews Bombardier operations and maintenance contract

Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) has extended Bombardier’s operations and maintenance contract.

Bombardier has been providing the services for the MARC train service’s Brunswick and Camden lines since penning a contract in 2012.

The new five-year deal is valued at around $288 million.

The scope of work includes operations, maintenance of a fleet of diesel locomotives and commuter rail cars – including Bombardier-built multi-level vehicles – customer service, station and facility maintenance, and maintenance of rail infrastructure for the portion of the Brunswick Line owned by MTA.
