State operator Slovenian Railways has awarded Stadler a €170 million deal for 26 trains – the manufacturer’s first order in the country.

The contract includes engineering, construction and delivery of 11 four-car Flirt EMUs, five three-car Flirt DMUs and 10 three-car Kiss EMUs, with an option for an additional 26 vehicles.

Stadler owner Peter Spuhler said it was a joyous occasion signing the deal after first attempting to enter the market in the 1990s.
