Rail freight apprentices sought at DB Schenker Rail

DB Schenker Rail (UK) Ltd is seeking 13 management apprentices from across the UK to train to become operational and engineering rail freight leaders of the future.

Aligned to national priorities to encourage modal shift from road to rail, DB Schenker Rail’s growth plans in the UK will be delivered by the rail freight leaders trained through this apprenticeship scheme.

A full training programme will be provided for successful applicants, lasting two years for assistant production manager apprenticeships and three years for operational management trainee apprenticeships and engineering management apprenticeships.

Alain Thauvette, Chief Executive of DB Schenker Rail (UK) Ltd, said:

“These apprenticeship opportunities allow successful applicants to get onto the railway, learn about this industry, and find out what it needs to deliver for customers while receiving professional training.

“With high demand for rail freight over the coming decades, this is a route to a successful career, with enormous job satisfaction knowing you are delivering for British industry through your role.”
