Siemens’ Vectron locomotive has received certification to operate on Hungary’s rail network.

The Hungarian National Transport Authority Nemzeti Közledekesi Hatosag (NKZ) has approved a 200 km/h AC model.

Hungary follows Austria, Germany, Poland, Romania and Sweden, as the latest EU state to approve the Vectron platform.

The Vectron has already received the EU certification which reduces the amount of testing required by individual states and completed the necessary runs in Hungary this summer.
