Norwegian Railways (NSB) have given NedTrain the contract to complete the mid-life overhaul of 20 Class 73 electrical multiple units.

The Class 73 fleet, which were built in A and B series, were delivered by AdTranz between 1999 and 2000 to operate domestic services between Oslo and Trontheim, Bergen, Stavanger, and to and from the Swedish city of Gothenburg.

“This contract is a great step for NedTrain on the external market, and we are very happy with the choice for NedTrain,” said Michiel van Roozendaal, chairman NedTrain.

The first Class 73 will travel by rail to NedTrain’s Haarlem facility in the autumn.
