Delhi Metro to build new elevated line

Delhi Metro (DMRC) has signed a $110 million contract for a new 9 km elevated line.

The deal with ITD Cementation India Limited and joint venture (JV) partner Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited includes construction of the new metro track and eight elevated stations.

The project is scheduled for completion in 2015.

The JV recently completed a $34 million contract for DMRC for the construction of a viaduct and structural work at five stations on the Qutub Minar- Gurgaon corridor of the Delhi Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) project.

As well as station work, the JV has also completed the $162 million contract for DMRC for the construction of an 8 km-long twin-bored underground metro tunnel  with advanced tunnel boring machine, including three underground stations at Khan Market, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and Jangpura station on Central Secretariat- Badarpur Corridor for the Delhi MRTS.
