Trenitalia adds to Jazz regional train fleet

Trenitalia has placed two orders for additional Jazz trainsets to add to its regional fleet.

The €170 million contracts include the supply of 25 new trains, which will be built in Savigliano, Cuneo.

To acquire the new trains, Trenitalia has exercised two options under a contract finalised in 2012.

Based on the Coradia Meridian platform, the Jazz EMU has a maximum speed of 160 km/h.
