EuroMaint Rail signs framework contract with Germany’s VTG

Listen to this article

VTG in Germany has signed a framework contract which will see EuroMaint Rail overhaul tanker carriages and reprocess freight carriage wheels in Sweden.

VTG is Europe’s largest private freight carriage owner. The signed framework contract means that EuroMaint Rail is establishing an axletree pool for freight carriages and assuming responsibility for reprocessing, stock-keeping, transport and control, including a perpetual inventory service, of VTG’s axletrees in Sweden. The wheel pool is to be managed by EuroMaint Rail’s workshop in Örebro.

“We are extremely pleased that VTG has chosen EuroMaint Rail for both overhaul work and reprocessing of freight carriage wheels. The establishment of the wheel pool lends considerable weight to EuroMaint Rail’s offering to freight carriage owners and operators. By investing in wheel reprocessing for freight carriages as well, we are bringing much-needed capacity to the market,” says Petter Arvidson, CEO of EuroMaint Rail.

The framework contract with VTG also includes continued overhaul of tanker carriages at EuroMaint Rail’s VPI-certified freight carriage workshop in Landskrona.
