CRRC Puzhen Bombardier Transportation Systems Limited (PBTS) has won a contract to supply a new automated people mover system for China’s Shenzhen Airport.
PBTS, Bombardier’s Chinese joint venture, will provide what it has described as an “Integrated System Package”, which will include 18 passenger cars.
The people mover will serve a 2.6 km line which connects an airside satellite to Shenzhen Airport’s Terminal 3.
Since opening in 2013, Shenzhen Airport’s Terminal 3 has welcomed more than 45 million passengers, with numbers expected to grow year on year.
Valued at CNY 453 million (€61 million), the system is due to go into service in 2020.

Bombardier has six Chinese joint ventures, which have been supplying everything from high-speed trains to locomotives and metros.
