Preferred bidder confirmed for Makkah Metro construction

A consortium including Isolux Corsan, Kolin and the Haif Company has been announced as the preferred bidder for lines B and C of the Makkah Metro.

The companies have now entered into negotiations with Makkah Mass Rail Transit over the exact terms of the contract, which is valued in the region of €2.3 billion.

The contract covers the preparatory works and main civils works for an 11.9-kilometre section of Line B and a 13-kilometre segment of Line C.

Construction of six new stations is included, plus a several sections of TBM and cut-and-cover tunnels.

The contract is expected to be finalised in the next few months.
